Iran's junior taekwondo players shine in Asian championships

Iran demonstrated a remarkable performance at the 9th edition of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships in Kazakhstan, collecting two gold and two silver medals, Press TV reported on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Zahra Shojaei got the women's 63kg gold medal after she beating her South Korean opponent Da Bin Song 23-3 in the final in the western Kazakh city of Atyrau.

Also, Mobina Nejad Katesari prevailed over South Korean Mi-Reu Kang 23-3 in the final of the women's 42kg division to snatch the second gold medal for Iran.

Additionally, Hamidreza Sadri earned the men's 48kg silver medal.

Earlier on the day, Mahla Mo'menzadeh lost 9-18 to a Thai player in the final of the women's 44kg division.

The 9th edition of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships kicked off in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, on April 19, and will conclude on April 21. Enditem
