NEW DELHI -- Indian police on Thursday claimed to have busted a major terror module and arrested three suspected Islamic State (IS) militants on charges of terror conspiracy.
A joint team of Delhi Police's special cell and the anti-terror squad of neighboring northern state of Uttar Pradesh's Police arrested the three IS suspects from Jalandhar town in the northern state of Punjab, Bijnor town in Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai. (India-IS)

FAIZABAD -- Two Afghan army soldiers and one civilian were killed in a roadside bomb blast in the country's northern province of Badakhshan on Thursday, local police said.
"An army vehicle running in Pul-e-Yardar area of Baharak District touched off a roadside bomb in the morning. Two army soldiers aboard the vehicle and one civilian passerby were martyred after the explosion," Mohammad Nabi Bayan, deputy provincial police chief, told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Blast)

MANILA -- The Russian missile cruiser Varyag and large sea-tanker Pechenga arrived here Thursday, starting a four-day goodwill visit to the Philippines.
