British shares down 0.46 pct

British stocks dropped on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.46 percent, or 33.14 points, to close at 7,114.36 points.

Supermarket chain Sainsbury's soared 5.03 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Airliners EasyJet jumped nearly 5 percent. Royal Bank of Scotland Group advanced 4.9 percent.

Burberry Group led the losers of the blue chips, by plunging 7.94 percent. Precious metals miner Fresnillo fell 2.95 percent. Gold mining company Randgold Resources lost 2.92 percent. Endit
