Burundi's president appoints new EAC minister

Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza has appointed Isabelle Ndahayo as the new East African Community (EAC) Affairs Minister, a presidential decree said Tuesday afternoon.

Isabelle Ndahayo was, since 2012, one of the nine Burundian lawmakers sitting at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) whose headquarters is based in Arusha, Tanzania.

She replaces Leontine Nzeyimana who was Burundi's EAC minister since 2012.

The EAC bloc is made up of six countries including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan. Endit
