British FTSE 100 plunges 2.46 pct

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday stumbled 2.46 percent, or 180.09 points, to 7,147.50 points.

Share price of Marks & Spencer Group increased by 1.93 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Barratt Developments, Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey and Land Securities Group increased by 1.40 percent, 0.95 percent, 0.86 percent and 0.72 percent respectively.

BHP Billiton led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.59 percent, followeding by Glencore (5.58 percent), Anglo American (5.13 percent), BP (3.93 percent) and Johnson Matthey (3.81 percent). Endit
