Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday congratulated his Turkish counterpart on the country's referendum victory, according to Foreign Ministry website.

"This achievement will hopefully result in further tranquility and stability in Turkey," Zarif told Mevlut Cavusoglu in a telephone conversation.

Turkey on Sunday voted "yes" with a narrow lead for the country's key referendum, which will shift the parliamentary system to an executive presidency and grant President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sweeping power. Endit
