-- The Zambian government said it will spend in excess of 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in the next five years to improve infrastructure in the aviation industry.

Minister of Transport and Communications Brian Mushimba said the investment was necessary in transforming the country's aviation industry as well as making Zambia a transport hub in the southern African region. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government has signed a 27-million-U.S.-dollar agreement with some new investors who will revive the operations of a harbor situated in the northern part of the country.
