The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has warned supporters of the country's biggest opposition party that they will be arrested for allegedly plotting to wage war on account of their leader being detained and charged with treason.

Lungu said he had received reports that lawmakers of the United Party for National Development met last Friday to plot how to set the country on fire, saying the police will not just sit idle but move in. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Zambian government has urged the private sector to help in marketing the country's rich food heritage.

Ministry of Tourism and Arts director of culture Victor Makashi said the promotion of Zambian foods would not only boost the economy through tourism but that it would also empower local food suppliers who will have a ready market. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government said it will not sit idly and watch fake clergymen tarnish the country's Christian declaration and image by engaging in diabolical activities.

Minister of Religious and National Guidance Godfridah Sumaili said it was unfortunate that "some bad eggs" were hiding in the church and warned that her ministry will not sit idly and watch magicians in the name of prophets tarnishing the country's image. (Daily Nation)

-- Zambia has expressed optimism that its trade with South Korea was headed in the right direction.

Zambia's Ambassador to South Korea Mumba Kapumpa said Zambia exported 6.7 million U.S. dollars worth of raw materials such as stone and glass to South Korea last year and imported goods worth 55. 5 million dollars. (The Mast) Endit
