The following are the major news highlights in Kenya's media outlets on Sunday.

-- Electoral commission clears 41,000 aspirants to participate in party primaries for the positions of governor, senator, members of Parliament and County Assemblies. This is the largest number of aspirants in the electoral history of the country as majority seeks to be politicians following rise on salaries. Opposition party ODM has the highest number of aspirants followed by ruling Jubilee party. (Standard on Sunday)
