Three cities in east China elect new mayors

Local lawmakers in three cities in the provinces of Shandong and Zhejiang in east China elected their respective mayors Thursday.

Wang Zhonglin, 54, was elected mayor of Jinan, provincial capital of Shandong.

Xu Liyi, 52, was elected mayor of Hangzhou, provincial capital of Zhejiang.

Qiu Dongyao, 55, was elected mayor of Ningbo, a coastal city in Zhejiang.

Shandong and Zhejiang are both economically developed provinces. Endi
