French shares down 0.01 pct

French shares were down on Wednesday, with the benchmark stock market index CAC 40 dipping by 0.01 percent, or 0.75 points, closing the day at 5,101.11 points.

Of the 40 selected companies, 16 experienced decrease.

Bouygues tumbled 2.40 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Vinci was down 1.72 percent and Societe Generale lost 1.42 percent.

Meanwhile, Essilor rose 2.39 percent, gaining the most amongst the blue chips, followed by Nokia, up 1.05 percent, and Valeo, up 1.04 percent. Endit
