Nairobi bourse key indices rise on high foreign input

All key indices of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) recorded positive gains Wednesday as foreign investors raised their participation to 86 percent from 50 percent in previous session.
The benchmark NSE 20 Share Index was up 5.35 points to stand at 3,109.78 while the All Share Index (NASI) ended 1.11 points higher to stand at 134.56. On the other hand, the NSE 25 Share Index was up 27.06 points to stand at 3,534.60.
Similarly, turnover increased to 7.5 million dollars on a volume of 25 million shares from the previous session's 15 million worth 3.5 million dollars.
Kenya Commercial Bank was the day's biggest mover after transacting 13 million shares valued at unchanged price of 0.34 dollars. The stock attracted the most foreign sales and buys.
Safaricom came in second at 5 million shares traded at 0.19 dollars while Equity Bank was third with 2.6 million shares at 0.32 dollars, a 2-percent rise.
CFC Stanbic moved 1 million shares at 0.58 dollars to stand at the fourth position while coming in fifth was Cooperative Bank with 590,700 shares traded at 0.14 dollars.
The bond market had securities worth 8 million dollars transacted, compared to 13 million dollars posted the previous session. Endit
