On Wednesday, the German Federal Employment Agency delivered new data which indicate that in Germany more than 2 million minors depend on state basic security benefits. Despite the continuing economic upturn this was 3.3 percent more than a year earlier.

German Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schaeuble questioned the planned economic support for Turkey because of the arrest of the German-Turkish journalist Deniz Yucel. "We were well on the road, but then this arrest came," said German Minister Schaeuble on Tuesday.
