Inner Mongolia to host 2017 World Judo Grand Prix

The 2017 World Judo Grand Prix (China) is schedueled from June 30 to July 2 in Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, organizers said here on Wednesday.
"For the next four years, this competition will be one of the most important events as part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualifications," said Lisa Allan, competition manager of the International Judo Federation.
She said there will be seven categories respectively for men and women across the three-day competition, adding that "all of the facilities here we need are excellent."
An estimated of nearly 400 jodokas from more than 60 countries and regions will compete in the event, said Li Zhiyou, deputy director of Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau that served as a co-sponsor.
This Grand Prix will attract the most talented judokas all over the world, he added.
Authorized by the International Judo Federation, the 2016 World Judo Grand Prix (China) was organized in eastern China's coastal city Qingdao. Endit
