DPRK, South Korean women footballers beat Uzbekistan, Hong Kong counterparts

The women footballers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korea Sunday beat their counterparts of Uzbekistan and Hong Kong of China respectively by 4-0 and 6-0.

Chances are now big for South Korea to qualify for the final next year in Jordan of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Asian Cup as it only needs to beat Uzbekistan by two goals Tuesday.

DPRK players met stiff resistance from Uzbekistan although it controlled most of the match. South Korea scored one goal only in the first half in the match against Hong Kong with a penalty kick. But it managed to score five times, including another penalty kick, in the second half.

DPRK and South Korea drew 1-1 Friday when the two teams played for the first time in 27 yeras on the DPRK soil. Endite
