Cologne goalie Horn extends contract

Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn have agreed on a further collaboration, the "Billy Goats" announced in an official statement on Saturday.

The Bundesliga club and goalkeeper extended the contract ahead of schedule as Horn has put pen to paper on a long-term deal until June 2022.

"Timo Horn is an excellent goalkeeper. His career within the club has been remarkable and it demonstrates his ambition. It is great that he had opted for Cologne and a long-term contract," Cologne's head coach Peter Stoeger said.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has played since 2002 for Cologne, and played his way through all youth ranks. Horn made overall 155 first team appearances for the "Billy Goats" .

"The club took a great development in the past years and I would like to continue this way. I remain ambitious and I am convinced that we still can achieve a lot together," the Cologne native told the club's official homepage.

Cologne sit currently on the 6th place in the German Bundesliga standings. They encounter relegation threatened Augsburg at the 29th round on Saturday. Endit
