Singapore stocks close 0.05 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 1.68 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 3,177.27.

A total of 3.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.25 billion Singapore dollars (893 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 271 to 205.

The STI index lost 0.96 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 3,175.59 on Thursday. Endit
