More female leadership needed in 21st century: Spanish expert

More female leadership is what we need in the 21st century, Nuria Chinchilla, the director of the International Center of Work and Family of the IESE Business School, said in an interview with Xinhua.
"Female leadership takes more into account people and community, anticipates consequences, looks more into detail and considers more the long-run aspects of businesses," Chinchilla said.
IESE recently published a report on women on the boards of directors of companies in the Ibex-35, the index comprising the 35 most liquid securities traded on the Spanish market.
The report shows until February 2017, a total of 92 women were part of boards of directors.
"As time goes by, more women are entering the boards of directors of companies; we continue to progress at a good pace," said Chinchilla.
Chinchilla does not agree with gender quotas, which "is a boomerang against women and against the company" and implies focusing on a minimum percentage that otherwise could be more.
"You have to take into account women's opinions in order to get the most of your business; all studies show this," she explained.
"Diversity leads to success if you know how to manage it," Chinchilla said.
"Nobody is an island in the world, we are all part of a family," Chinchilla said, saying the presence of women in the workforce is part of an evolution more than a revolution. Endit
