The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has urged the country's telecommunication and technology regulator to regulate the tele-communication space so that it can monitor social media which was being abused by citizens.

Lungu expressed concern that some citizens were abusing social media by writing letters insinuating that it was government officials issuing certain instructions which government was not aware of and urged the Zambia Information and Communications Authority (ZICTA) to enhance cyber security. -- Zambia has been ranked as the second highest performer in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) regional integration index at about 56.5 percent while Kenya is first at 57 percent.

-- Zambia's Minister of Finance Felix Mutati said the country will for the first time give conditions to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) before embarking on its aid program.

Mutati said the country was currently engaging the IMF in order to enhance economic growth, but noted that the aid package was anchored on government's conditions.(The Mast) Endit
