Singapore stocks close 0.27 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 8.45 points or 0.27 percent to close at 3,179.06.

A total of 1.76 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 881.9 million Singapore dollars (630.3 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 250 to 194.

The STI index gained 12.4 points, or 0.39 percent, to close at 3,187.51 on Monday. Endit
