Indian markets close higher

Indian markets closed higher Monday on the first trading day of fiscal year 2017-18.

Benchmark indices continued steady performance and traded above the gap-up opening levels, driven by a rally in index heavyweights.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 29,910.22, 289.72 points or 1 percent up compared to its previous close at 29,620.50. Endit
