An Indian army trooper was arrested Monday at Srinagar airport in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir after two hand grenades were found in his baggage, police said.

The trooper was about to board a chartered flight to New Delhi, when the policemen to screen passenger baggage inside airport detected the hand grenades and alerted the anti-hijacking squad. (India-Trooper)

ISLAMABAD -- At least four people were killed and 16 others went missing when a boat capsized in Pakistan's south Naushahro Feroze district Monday morning, local Urdu media reported.

ARY News said that the boat was carrying laborers to the bank of Indus River when it capsized in Keti Bagian area in the southern province of Sindh. (Pakistan-Boat Accident)

YANGON -- A total of 15 people were killed and one injured Sunday night by a fire that ripped through a karaoke bar in Magway township, Magway region, according to Myanmar Fire Service Department Monday.

The fire occurred at about 10:00 p.m. local time. The damage resulting from the fire is estimated to worth over 5 million kyats (over 3,671 U.S. dollars ) (Myanmar-Fire)

MANILA -- At least 31 Philippine soldiers, including two military officers, have been wounded in fresh clash with Muslim militants in the southern Philippine Sulu province, the military said Monday.

Col. Cirilito Sobejana of the Philippine Army said that a lieutenant colonel and a lieutenant were among those hit by shrapnel from explosives fired by more than 100 Abu Sayyaf militants during a heavy fighting that broke out Sunday in a remote town in Sulu province. (The Philippines-Militants)

NEW DELHI -- Somali pirates have hijacked an Indian cargo ship with 11 crew members onboard, local media reports said Monday.

The ship named Al Kaushar according to New Delhi based television news channel -- India Today -- was hijacked on Saturday while on its way to Al Mukala port in Yemen from Dubai. (India-Somalia-Ship) Endit
