The 19th Prague half-marathon was held on Saturday in Czech Republic with Joyciline Jepkosgei and Tamirat Tola won the women's race and men's race respectively. Both of the runners are from Kenya, and Jepkosgei set a new women's wrold record.

Jepkosgei won the Prague half-marathon with a total time of 1:04:52. She beat the record set by her fellow countrywoman Peres Jepchirchir in the United Arab Emirates in February by 14 seconds, and became the first woman in history with a time below 1:05 hour.

Jepkosgei said she is happy with the result and she just wanted to improve her personal record, and certainly did not expect that she run so fast.
