Canadian pair win gold medal in Ice Dance at World Figure Skating Championships 2017

Canadian duo Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, 2010 Olympic champions and two-time world champions in 2010 and 2012, took the gold medal in the Ice Dance competition on Saturday at the World Figure Skating Championships 2017 in Helsinki, Finland, with a total score of 198.62 points.

French duo Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, two-time world champions in 2015 and 2016, failed to defend their titles and took the silver medal with 196.04 points. The bronze medal went to American's Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani with 185.18 points.

Chinese pair Wang Shiyue and Liu Xinyu, who just won gold medal in Ice Dance at the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games in February, placed the 16th with 150.25 points.

The World Figure Skating Championships 2017 is held at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki from March 29 to April 2. On Sunday, there will be an exhibition of champions presenting on the skating rink. Endit
