China to help build ring road in Ramallah of Palestine

The Chinese representative office to Palestine and the Ramallah municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)Saturday to build a ring road connecting the expanding neighborhoods of the West Bank city.

The MoU details the plan for the over 8 million U.S. dollars worth grant, which will be used to build the ring road.

Chen Xingzhong, ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine, stressed the long term commitment of China towards Palestine and the establishment of a viable state of its own, highlighting the intimate historical ties and the Chinese political, economic and infrastructure support.

He expected that the future will witness more projects to the city, and other West Bank cities as well.

Mayor of Ramallah Mousa Hadid said in the signing ceremony that this agreement translates into action the historical ties between Palestine and China, explaining that the total grant is of 8.32 million U.S. dollars, out of which 7.7 million dollars will be used for the road construction. Endit
