German benchmark DAX index gains 53.43 points Thursday

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday gained by 53.43 points or 0.44 percent, and closed at 12256.43 points.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse gained the most among the blue chips, whose share went up by 1.80 percent, followed by German tire specialist Continental and pharmaceutical company Merck by winning 1.60 percent and 1.58 percent respectively.

Daimler, Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank were the top three losers today, whose shares lost 4.19 percent, 1.32 percent and 0.80 percent respectively.

German automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share with a turnover of 344.05 million euros (about 369.40 million U.S. dollars). Endit
