5 non-ceasefire signatory armed groups to join signing of Myanmar government's ceasefire accord

Five non-ceasefire signatory armed groups in Myanmar have disclosed that they will joint in signing the government' Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA), according to an announcement of the State Counselor's Office Thursday night.

The five armed groups, which are members of the United Nationalities Federation Council (UNFC), are Kayinni National Progressive Party, New Mon State Party, Arakan National Council, Lahu Democratic Union and Wa National Organization.

The NCA was initially signed by eight other armed groups in August 2015 during the previous government tenure. Enditem
