Slovenia's Adria Airways pilots threaten further strikes

Xinhua, March 30, 2017 Adjust font size:

Slovenian Adria Airways pilots have set dates in the following three months for further strikes after their demands on improvement of payment and working conditions were rejected.

Unless a deal is reached, the pilots will resume their strike between April 12 and 14, between May 3 and 5, and again between June 6 and 8, the pilots' union boss Marjan Majcen said on Thursday.

Almost all of Adria's 113 pilots staged a two-day strike last week but failed to result in progress in negotiations on their working conditions, according to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).

The main reason for their industrial action is a reduction in pay, which is said to be around 35 percent, and other rights after the old collective bargaining agreement expired. Endit
