Pentagon agrees over 4 bln-dollar contract with Siemens

U.S. Department of Defense awarded Wednesday a maximum 4.129 billion U.S. dollars contract to Siemens Medical Systems USA Inc., the company said in a press release.

The five-year base contract with one five-year option period is for the provision of radiology systems, accessories and training to the army, navy, air force, marine corps and federal civilian agencies.

The contract was awarded following a competitive process, involving 27 responses.

Joe Kaeser, CEO of Siemens AG, accompanied German Chancellor Angela Merkel on her recent trip to the United States. Endit
