Central gov't officials meet with Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor

Officials of various offices of the central government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Wednesday met with Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor who won the region's fifth-term chief executive election.

Zhang Xiaoming, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, said while meeting with Lam that the office will continue to implement the "one country, two systems" principle and the Basic Law, and support the chief executive and the HKSAR government in administering Hong Kong in accordance with the law.

On the same day, Lam also met with Tong Xiaoling, acting commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the HKSAR (OCMFA) at the OCMFA, and Tan Benhong, commander of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in HKSAR at the headquarters of the garrison.
