German benchmark DAX index gains 153.35 points

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday gained by 153.35 points or 1.28 percent, and closed at 12149.42 points.

Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank gained the most among the blue chips, whose shares went up by 3.31 percent and 2.90 percent respectively, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies that rose by 2.46 percent.

Energy groups RWE and housing association Vonovia were the only losers Tuesday, losing 0.61 percent and 0.41 percent respectively. Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel increased the least by growing 0.17 percent.

German automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share with a turnover of 303.09 million euros (about 329.12 million U.S. dollars). Endit
