Editor's note:

Tie-dyeing is an old Chinese textile dyeing technique. Among several places known for this handicraft, Zhoucheng Village in the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China's Yunnan Province is the most famous. The tie-dyeing technique of the Bai ethnic group in Dali was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2006.
