Moroccan authorities seized 1.5 ton of cannabis on Friday in central city of Kasba Tadla, local media reported on Saturday.
Citing a statement from the Moroccan police, Hespress news website said the banned substance was packed in 60 bags on board of a Morocco-registered vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, with a criminal record for drug trafficking, was arrested at the entrance to the city, the source said.
Despite efforts to crack down on cannabis farming in the last decade, Morocco remains the world's largest cannabis resin harvester.
According to the 2016 report by the UN's Office on Drugs and Crime, Morocco ranks first among 129 cannabis producing countries throughout the period from 2009 to 2014, followed by Afghanistan, Lebanon, India and Pakistan. Endit
