The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Friday.

-- The Zambian government has signed a 10-million-euro financing agreement with the European Union (EU) to support the country's National Authorization Officer who oversees the implementation of the European Development Fund.

The financing will contribute to efficient and timely implementation of EU-funded projects and programs. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Zambian government said it had put in place tight coordination measures to avoid wastage of public resources through duplication of projects and programs by various ministries. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government said it would deal with its crippling debt and prudent spending as indicated by difficult reforms that have already been undertaken with or without the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
