Three elder fishermen found dead off Greece's Rhodes Island

Xinhua, March 1, 2017 Adjust font size:

Greek coast guard found the bodies of three elder fishermen Wednesday morning off the coast of Rhodes Island, hours after they went missing on a boat.

The three men, aged 64, 67 and 72, had gone missing on Tuesday evening. One of them had called a relative saying that they were having trouble with their boat.

A massive rescue operation is still going on, as it is yet unclear whether a fourth friend was also on the ill-fated boat.

Investigators have not yet determined the causes of the tragedy.

Local daily Rodiaki said at the time of the incident, the weather conditions were good, with only moderate breeze blowing in the area. Endi
