These businesses are considered as very important because they give a significant contribution to employment and revenues in Albanian economy in general.
On the other hand, INSTAT reports showed that businesses employing more than 50 employees only make up for 1 percent of active businesses.
According to official figures, the number of businesses that employ between five and nine people is also small, not exceeding 6,000.
Meanwhile, companies that employ 10 up to 49 persons mostly operate in the trade sector, because they require more employees to deliver certain functions.
