New Zealand, Dutch military chiefs look to advance defense links

Xinhua, February 28, 2017 Adjust font size:

The top military commander of New Zealand will discuss global peace and security issues with his visiting Dutch counterpart this week, the New Zealand Defence Force announced Tuesday.

The Chief of Defense of the Netherlands, General Tom Middendorp, would hold talks with New Zealand Chief of Defense Force, Lieutenant General Keating and Secretary of Defense Helene Quilter.

The Netherlands was a valuable partner of New Zealand, Keating said in a statement.

"The visit provides a good opportunity to exchange views on security in both Europe and the Asia-Pacific, and challenges such as countering violent extremism," said Keating.

"I look forward to hosting my counterpart from the Netherlands and continuing to advance our defense relationship," Keating said. Endit
