At least four miners were feared dead on Monday night and six others were rescued when a gold mine collapsed in Tanzania's northern region of Mara, rescuers said.

Elia Caleb, leading a team of rescuers, said the collapse at Buhemba gold mine happened when the miners were inside digging illegally. (Tanzania-Mine)

ATHENS -- Four people, including a three-year-old child, lost their lives in a car accident on the national highway connecting the Greek capital city to Thessaloniki on Sunday in a tragedy that shocked Greek society and revived the debate regarding the country's poor road safety record.

A speeding Porsche driven by the son of a famous Greek businessman, crashed into a car parked at an emergency station, some 80 km north of the Greek capital, killing a 33-year-old woman and her child. (Greece-Accident)

NEW DELHI -- A special court in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh Monday sentenced to life in jail 11 members of the banned home-grown terror outfit, Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), for sedition and possession of arms and explosives.

"It appears from the activities of the convicts that they don't have faith in the lawfully and constitutionally established Government of India... Their acts are against national unity and integrity of the country. They are involved in illegal activities by fomenting religious hatred with an aim to create serious danger for the entire humanity," the court said. (India-Terrorist)0 - - - -

DAMASCUS -- At least 13 people were killed by airstrikes that targeted rebel-held areas in the northwestern province of Idlib overnight, a monitor group reported on Monday.

A man with his wife, and their two children, as well as four people of one family were among those killed when airstrikes targeted the the city of Ariha in the southern countryside of Idlib, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, stopping short of identifying who was behind the air raids.
