BiH exports see year-on-year increase of 14.3 pct in January

Exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) amounted to 722 million convertible marks (391 million U.S. dollars) in January 2017, registering a year-on-year increase of 14.3 percent, official data revealed on Monday.

According to data from BiH's Agency for Statistics, imports in the same period reached 1.01 billion convertible marks, up 9.6 percent compared with the same period of last year.

The European Union (EU) is the most important trade partner for BiH.

Exports to EU countries amounted to 548 million convertible marks in January 2017, up 11.4 percent year-on-year, while imports from the EU amounted to 635 million convertible marks, down 11.5 percent year-on-year. (1 U.S. dollar=about 1.84 convertible mark) Endit
