Singapore stocks close 0.49 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 15.37 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 3,137.57.

A total of 3.46 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.70 billion Singapore dollars (1.20 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 239 to 208.

The STI index gained 28.01 points, or 0.91 percent, to close at 3,122.20 on Wednesday. Enditem
