Nine-time winner France will host 10-time titleholder Britain in northwestern city of Rouen in Davis Cup quarter-final, the French Tennis Federation announced here on Monday.
The matchup will be held at the 5,000-plus-capacity Palais des Sports in Rouen from April 7 to 9, the second time that the capital of the Normandy region has hosted the tournament after 2013, when France swept Israel in the World Group first round.
It featured the 22nd edition of the duel as Britain led head-to-head record at 12-9 against France, who lost the last encounter on grass of the Queen's Club at the same stage two years ago.
It will also be the first time that the two sides have played on clay since 1978, when Britain edged past France in Roland Garros.
Overwhelming Japan 4-1 in Tokyo for a last eight berth, France has clearly set its target at denying Britain, who won 3-2 against Canada in Ottawa in previous round, a semifinal spot for the third straight year. Endit
