China seizes over 800 kg new psychoactive substances

Xinhua, February 16, 2017 Adjust font size:

Chinese authorities have seized over 800 kg of new psychoactive substances since 2016, an official with National Narcotics Control Commission told a press briefing Thursday.

They have arrested dozens of suspects and destroyed eight production labs, said Deng Ming, deputy director of the commission.

Law enforcers have coordinated with counterparts in more than 20 countries, including Russia, the United States, Australia and Britain, in solving a number of such cases, Deng said, adding that new psychoactive substances have been discovered in 101 countries or regions.

Currently, China lists 134 new psychoactive substances. Endi
