Iran, Luxembourg sign agreement to boost trade ties

Iran and Luxembourg signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost trade relations and to support investments in both countries, semi-official Fars news agency reported on Tuesday.
"Iran's general policy is to improve ties with European countries, Luxembourg in particular," Iranian Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia said in a meeting with the visiting Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn.
"The MoU is an indication of the two countries' good will and interest to promote economic relations," Tayyebnia was quoted as saying.
The recent visit by the governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) to Luxembourg would also help further boost of banking relations between the two countries, he added.
Asselborn underlined his country's enthusiasm for increasing cooperation with Iran in economic and banking fields.
He also stressed his country's interest in signing an agreement with Iran on the ease of taxation and to start negotiations to cooperate in air transportation.
Asselborn arrived in Iran's capital Tehran on Monday seeking to explore new opportunities in the bilateral relations with the Islamci republic. Endit
