British shares rise Friday

British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.4 percent, or 29.25 points, to clost at 7,258.75 points.

Miner multinationals were among the top gainers in the day as metal prices rebounded.

Rio Tinto led the charge by soaring 5.77 percent, becoming the top gainer of the blue chips.

Anglo American, Antofagasta, Glencore and BHP Billiton increased by 4.4 percent, 3.53 percent, 2.77 percent and 2.39 percent, respectively.

British household products company Reckitt Benckiser Group lost 2.96 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Endit
