A Russian airstrike mistakenly killed three Turkish soldiers and injured 11 in Syria's al-Bab town, the Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement on Thursday.

TEHRAN -- An explosion in a research center in Iran' southern port city of Bandar Abbas has claimed the lives of five people, Iran's state IRINN TV reported on Thursday.

KATHMANDU -- The Nepalese government on Thursday extended the tenure of two transitional justice mechanisms by a year which were formed to investigate war-era human rights violation cases, officials said here.
A Cabinet meeting decided to extend the term of Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and Commission of Enquiry on Enforced Disappearance (CEED), which are also mandated to provide justice to the conflict victims, Defense Minister Bal Krishna Khand told media in Kathmandu. DAMASCUS -- Syrian army backed by the Lebanese Hezbollah group are closing in on the IS stronghold of the city of al-Bab in northern Syria, while Turkish forces and allied rebels are advancing in the northern part of that key city near the Turkish borders, a monitor group reported on Thursday.
Intense battles are raging between Syrian army and Hezbollah on one side with the backing of Russian artillery shelling, against the IS in the southern and southwestern part of the city of al-Bab, the last major IS stronghold in the northern province of Aleppo, near the Turkish frontier, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.(Syria-Turkey-IS) Endit
