EIB lends 350-mln euros to support Macedonia through economic crisis

Xinhua, February 9, 2017 Adjust font size:

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has provided 350 million euros of total loans to support Macedonia through the economic crisis, vice premier Vladimir Pesevski said Wednesday.

These loans were used to finance 1,758 projects that created 6,940 jobs, Pesevski said in a statement after meeting with Matteo Rivellini, head of EIB Department for Western Balkans.

These loans contributed to mitigating the consequences of the economic and debt crises in Europe on Macedonia's domestic companies, enabling them to develop and create jobs, Pesevski said.

The cooperation between Macedonia and EIB has been fruitful and both parties are willing to further enhance such cooperation, he said. Endit
