Shenzhen FC in $28 million bid for Colombia forward - report

Xinhua, February 9, 2017 Adjust font size:

Shenzhen FC have made a 28 million US-dollar bid to sign Colombia international forward Miguel Borja, according to media reports.

Borja's agent, Ignacio Martan, earlier this week said that his client was close to joining Brazil's Palmeiras after rejecting an offer from an unnamed Chinese club.

But ESPN Brasil said the 24-year-old Atletico Nacional player has been tempted to change his mind by Shenzhen FC's offer, which is said to include a monthly salary of more than 600,000 US dollars.

Borja has scored 17 goals in 27 matches for Atletico Nacional and helped the Colombian outfit win last year's Copa Libertadores - South America's top club competition - for the first time since 1989. He has been capped twice for Colombia's national team.

Coached by former Manchester City and England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, Shenzhen FC currently play in China League One, Chinese football's second tier. Endit
