Urgent: Somalia presidential vote goes into 2nd round

Voting in Somalia's presidential election went into the second round on Wednesday after no candidate garnered 219 votes or two thirds of the votes in the first round.

The four candidates who garnered most of the votes progressed into the second round. They include Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Mohamed A. Farmajo, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Omar Sharmarke.

The first two candidates will proceed to the last round in case none of the four candidates garners majority of the votes.

In the first round, Mohamud garnered 88 votes, Farmajo came in second with 72 votes while Ahmed and Sharmarke received 49 and 37 votes respectively. Endit
