A powerful earthquake measuring 6.4 magnitude at the Richter scale jolted the southwest region of Pakistan early Wednesday morning, Pakistan's National Seismic Monitoring Center said.

No immediate loss of life or damage of property has been reported yet from the affected areas. (Pakistan-Quake)

UNITED NATIONS -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday said that he "deeply regrets" that Israel adopted a bill late Monday that would retroactively legalize Jewish settlements on privately owned Palestinian land.

He stressed that "the bill is in contravention of international law and will have far reaching legal consequences for Israel." (UN-Israel)
