The following are news in Kenyan media outlets on Tuesday:

-- Normalcy returns at the Kenya Defence Forces camp that was attacked by Al-Shabaab terrorists two week ago at Kulbiyow in Somalia. Monday, only a handful of charred motor vehicle parts remained at the scene of an explosion, about 600 metres from the centre of the camp. Most of the soldiers who fought in the battle with the militants had returned to the camp. Twenty-one soldiers died while 44 others sustained injuries and are in Nairobi for treatment. -- A new round of talks to end the doctors' strike which is in its third month begin Wednesday. The negotiations will be mediated by Central Organization of Trade Unions and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights as ordered by the Labour court last week. (The Star)

--Opposition leader Raila Odinga has accused officials at electoral commission of conspiring to interfere with voter registration by making double entries in bid to rig August polls.

He made the claim even as it emerged the commission seeks to strike a deal with the Opposition for an out-of-court settlement over a case in which the latter has blocked audit of the voters' register. (The Standard)
